The installation of top driven piles is quick and efficient

Tubular piles involve a heavy gauge steel tube driven in lengths of 2.0 to 6.0m using a variety of rig mounted hammers including hydraulically operated and drop weight systems.

The tube sections are jointed as the pile progresses to the required depth.

Precast piles are also driven in lengths of 2.0 to 6.0m and incorporate a patented joint system capable of withstanding full tension loading, including installation induced tension forces during driving.

Piles are designed and installed based on a predetermined set or length criteria. These piles are suitable in most ground conditions and have the added value of no costly spoil removal.

Advantages of top driven piles

  • Small lightweight equipment

  • No spoil removal

  • Minimal site preparation

  • Piles self-testing when driven to a set Can be installed successfully in most ground conditions including peats, soft clay and loose sand where some other techniques are unsuitable.

  • Limited headroom, restricted access capability
