Branlow Update Summer 2008

I am pleased to announce that Branlow Limited has now been acquired by Balfour Beatty Plc and is now part of Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering (BBGE).

Branlow will continue to operate without any significant changes as a free standing business with the Branlow Management Team remaining unchanged and fully committed to driving the business forward. We are all looking forward to an exciting future working alongside our sister BBGE companies namely Stent, Pennine and Testal.

Branlow provides BBGE with a strong mini and micro piling capability in the UK and Ireland. In addition our ground anchor, soil nailing and grouting capabilities will further strengthen BBGE’s premier position in the ground engineering market.

Balfour Beatty is the UK’s largest contracting organisation with a worldwide turnover of £7.5 billion in 2007 and future order book in excess of £12 billion; as such, Branlow now has the financial strength to maximise opportunities for future growth to realise our full potential going forward.

Since our last update Branlow has continued to grow and make significant investment in emerging technologies and expanding our micro piling capability with new plant purchases. Branlow’s recent successes include: micropile retaining wall contracts in Notting Hill, London and in Gorey, Ireland; micropile installation for Rolls Royce at Goodwood; participation in Rail projects involving minipiling for platform extensions, signalling and communications mast bases, disable access lift works and modular stations as well as many other solutions across various sectors. Moreover, we are about to commence a significant minipiling project at Swiss Centre, Leicester Square in London, which also involves geothermal installations.

Finally, I assure you that you can expect us to continue to deliver the highest level of service to your projects, big or small, that you have come to expect from us over the years. As one of our valued clients - I would like to personally thank you for significantly contributing to our past success and I look forward to building on our existing relationships going forward.

Sincerely

 Paul Woodfield
Managing Director

In 2006 Branlow celebrated its Silver Jubilee with 25 successful years as a Specialist Geotechnical Contractor. The past few years have seen significant growth and late last year saw us open offices in Belfast and Dublin and move to a new Scottish office.
